26th International Easter tournament MHC Heerhugowaard 30th, 31st of March and 1st of April 2018

Welcome at the 26th edition of the international Easter tournament at Mixed hockeyclub Heerhugowaard! We look forward to another great weekend! You can already subscribe your team, do not miss this great event!
The tournament starts on Friday the 30th of March 2018 in Heerhugowaard (Holland), a town close to Amsterdam and only 20 minutes away from the sea. This traditional, recreational tournament is well known over the country and abroad and famous for its good combination of hockey pleasure and outstanding parties! We play in teams of eight field players (this does not include the substitutes that you should wisely bring) on half a pitch and the matches last for 20 minutes, the level is recreational.
After the welcome at 19:00 hours and some French fries, we play one hockey match. Then, the Friday night party starts and we continue the tournament on Saturday morning after we have enjoyed our breakfast. After the hockey matches we have a good dinner to be well prepared for the big Saturday night party (including fancy dress, theme is Disney!) with a drive-inn show! On Sunday, the last matches are played and the traditional beerpong tournament is being held. The tournament closes with the award ceremony. The real die-hards can stay Sunday evening for a karaoke night and drink some more beers in a calmer atmosphere.
The entrance fee is €32,50 per person including breakfasts and dinner.

Crew Members

Hi there! Firstly, thank you for your interest in our tour! We are already busy with the preparations of the coming tour and to make it another one to remember! My name is Sandra and I’ve been playing hockey for 2 years now, and yet, this is already my third year in the organising committee of the Easter tour at MHC Heerhugowaard! This year I’m the co-chairman, but also responsible for the team entries and subscriptions. You can contact me at any time at info@paastoernooi.nl.

I’ve finished my studies and a PhD in chemistry and now I am working in the field of industrial water treatment. Besides being an account manager, I’m also in quest of new clients. And this is not very different from finding as many teams as possible for our tour! Because, as we all know, the more the merrier. In the past years that I’ve been attending this tour, I’ve made a lot of friends and I know I’ll be making new friends this year.

I hope you can find all the information you need here on the website, but if you have any questions or need help arranging travel etc, please contact me at info@paastoernooi.nl.

I am looking forward to another great tour and I hope to see you there as well!

Thank you for your interest in our tournament. We hope you can find all the information here and that you will join our next mixed hockey tour in 2018.

My name is Kelly Logchies and I am responsible for the team subscriptions as well as other matters during the tournament. You can contact me any time at info@paastoernooi.nl.

I play in the first ladies team of MHC Heerhugowaard. My first Easter tournament was five years ago, which also happened to be my first year playing for MHC Heerhugowaard. I enjoyed it so much that the following years I joined the committee and started organizing the tournament.

It is something I really enjoy doing, to ensure everyone has a great time. I am usually the strong silent type, yet I have met a lot of lovely people and made new friends. I have been on tour to Italy and England with the Vansittarts who’ve joined our tournament several times all the way from England! It is a pleasure to be welcoming you to our tour and I will do my very best to ensure a good start of your hockey tour.

Hello! My name is Shannon and I am 23 years old. I was never able to come to Easter tournament due to work commitments, but becoming a member of the tournament committee turned out to be the perfect loophole. Now I tell my boss that I will work every holiday, but Easter is my free weekend(which my mother is not too happy about because now I have to work during Christmas).

The most beautiful thing about tour is that you make friends for life, it’s just one big family. Even when it’s your first tour, everybody is super friendly and accepting. I do remember my first tour very well. Me, being an event planner student, wanted everything to go perfectly. It took a few beers to let go, but I had the best time! Five years later, I can’t imagine a year without Easter tour.

Hi I’m Hugo and I’m joining the Easter Tournament for the 18th year now. At the age of 7 I started playing hockey at MHC Heerhugowaard and since the age of 12 I’ve been playing as a goalie. Besides playing hockey I also give training sessions every now and then to our lovely Ladies Veterans team or other goalies.

Workwise I’m a project leader in road construction and it has quite some similarities with organising a tour. In the beginning you have nothing, only a team with lots of experience. And in the end we would like to have an amazing project, in this case THE Easter Tournament. The road to a completed project or in this case tournament is never the same.

During the tournament I make sure the drinks are always cold and ready to be served and at the beginning of the evening I take care of the music. If you have any songs you would like to hear during the tournament please contact me at music@paastoernooi.nl.

For me, the most imported thing during the tournament is making new friends and seeing old friends, especially the ones from England! Vansittards and Team Ginge have been coming to Heerhugowaard for over a decade.

I hope to see you all at the end of March at the best Easter hockey tournament there is in the Netherlands!

Hi! My name is Renée (in the middle of the picture), 34 years old, and from the first time I joined the Easter Tour at age 16 I was sold. The year after I became part of the Easter Tour committee and after 4 years I was chairperson for 5 years. Now I support the current organization to organize a great tour. Some of the visiting teams are visiting us for more than 10 years now! If we ask them why, they say it’s the relaxed atmosphere, good people and good partying. So be there!!

In case you are still reading: the rest of the year I work as an organizational psychologist and jobcoach for people with a work related disability and I live in Heerhugowaard with my husband and 2 kids.

Hi! My name is Mathijs and this is the first time I am part of the Easter Tour commitee after joining the tour for many years. My main task for this year is to get all permittances on time and to cope with all the regulations.

In my work I work as a quality engineer of softwaredevelopment projects, calculating risks and inspect damage, seems just like tour. I’m looking forward to see all the teams in Heerhugowaard during the easter weekend!

My name is Bas Wulfers and I’m 20 years old. I’ve been playing hockey my whole life and I’ve been participating in the Easter tournament for 10 years now. Nowadays I study International tourism management in Leeuwarden.

What is he going to tell me, you must think? Well, I think that too.
So, where shall we begin. Of course I am the best hockey player in North-Holland or even  in the Netherlands. I love the Chinese food on Saturday in combination with a beer. After each goal that I score on the Easter tournament, I do a head roll. I don’tt know hangovers during this weekend. And in 10 years I will marry Kim Kardashian.

So, enough about me.

This will be my 3rd year as a committee member of the Easter tournament. I am really looking forward to it and am glad you are all coming again.

See you soon!

Hello, my name is Nannie Dake. Since this year I am a member of the Easter tournament. It is the 26th Edition and I visited them all. In the early years I’ve been a crew member as well, but lately I was only attending as a player. Because I always have such a fun weekend at the Easter tournament,  I decided to help the committee. Every year I’m looking forward to seeing all the teams we’ve met the years before.

Every Sunday I play field hockey with Renée and Sandra and we’re having a lot of fun! In daily life I work at a training centre where we teach non-native speakers the Dutch language.

I hope to see you all at the end of March at the best Easter hockey tournament there is in the Netherlands!

We hope to see you at Easter!

When is this year’s Easter tournament?
In 2018 the tournament will take place on Friday 30th, Saturday 31st of March and Sunday 1st of April.

What is the location of the tournament?
The tournament is held on the pitches of Mixed Hockeyclub Heerhugowaard. This is a town which is less then an hour away from Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport. It can be reached easily by car or via public transport.

What are the games like?
We play games of 20 minutes, 8 vs 8 and without a goal keeper. They are played on sand-based astroturf pitches (half a pitch).

Is it possible to sleep at the club and where can we take a shower?
Yes we have the possibility of camping on site (bring your own tents). You can use the changing rooms for showering etc. If you prefer to stay in a hotel nearby this is also possible (let us know and we’ll help you).

We’re coming by train. How do we get from the train to the club?
If you take the train to Heerhugowaard and let us know what time you’ll arrive, we can arrange for you to be picked up.

I’ve subscribed my team and got an email about a deposit.
This is correct. As soon as we receive your subscription you will receive an email from us with a payment request. Please pay this partial amount (or the full amount of your team as you prefer) within 2 weeks to complete your subscription.

What is different from last year?
This year the lunch is not included in the registration fee anymore, as we want to offer the participants a better lunch.
Second, and this is not any different from the past years but ruled out for this year: you are not allowed to bring your own booze,  and we urge you to please follow this rule. The tournament will supply a variety of alcoholic drinks which you can consume.
